The EMR Trainer is responsible for the successful education and training of EPIC application modules and the optimization of end user and Provider engagement and use. The EMR Trainer will under the direction of and in collaboration with the Provider Champion develop training manuals & competency checklists, educational flyers and material, manage the knowledge library, develop e-videos, lead lunch & learns and other training focused support. The EMR Trainer will provide shoulder-2-shoulder shadow support for new users in all areas of the clinical and administrative environment to strengthen user proficiency of features and functionality of the EHR Software.

-Leads clinical training sessions to optimize the staffs’ use of the EHR application, implementation of new systems and functionality, workflow optimization, and use of system to ensure quality measures are achieved and maintained.
-Delivers objective and agenda based classroom training instruction for assigned application(s) of Epic Program.
-Provides knowledge of operational protocols and principles as it relates to the toolidge of the EHR system.
-Review and manage staff competency and efficiency of use of new modules of care, features and functionality across all care programs using reporting work bench and requested data analytics.
-Deliver end user training and provide ongoing support for day-to-day operations. Including daily and weekly floor support to ensure overall optimization of EPIC features and functionality as determined by HR/medical onboarding protocols.
-Reviews EHR release notices for relevance and works with EPIC Team/Provider Champion to craft standardized educational flyers/materials as directed for clinical leadership to disseminate.
-Demonstrate and train super users to support new care modules and workflows.
-Uses OCHIN’s JIRA system and internal JIRA system to ensure clinical support is provided timely and tracked to resolution.
-Works with the data team to track various clinical metrics, including measuring the impact of, and compliance with, clinical changes implemented.
-Ensures Providers are achieving and maintaining quality metrics, performs audits as directed by clinical and quality leadership direction
-Uses Signal Platform to support to End-User proficiency testing, conduct technical training needs assessment and audits using RWB and other reporting mechanisms to develop staff efficiencies to increase optimization of the EPIC system.
-Collaborates and engages with the Provider Champion, to provide continuous process improvement and analyze workflows to assess end user knowledge and appropriate use of features and functionality of the EHR software.
-Records questions and feedback as appropriate to include in future education and/or end user support sessions.
-Ensures classroom attendance is accurately recorded and reported for each training sessions
-Reviews and modifies curriculum and lesson plans to ensure articulacy with any changes to the material.
-Collaborates and engages with the Provider Champion, Site Specialists, and designated clinical leadership to coordinate all training engagement planning and development.
-Contributes to training curriculum design to optimize quality improvement as necessary with OCHIN Epic Updates.
-Upon direction from quality leadership and Provider Champion, contributes to training curriculum that aligns with OCHIN Epic updates.
-Consults with management and technical staff to ensure the validity and relevance of course curriculum.
Provides Go-Live Support and serves as a training resource to assigned departments/clinics, and Provides one-on-one and small group teaching support to End Users during Go Lives.
-Assists with issues/questions at Go Lives and/or refers issues to Command Center and Provider Champion.
-Analyzes and interprets patient, clinical, provider, or information systems data as directed to improve and drive clinical and provider workflow enhancements and optimization of patient care services.
-Basic familiarity with regulatory, legal and compliance issues in healthcare such as HIPAA, HRSA and FQHC requirements.
-Knowledge of information security principles, practices, technologies and strategies and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
-4-5 years of technical training experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and professional clinical experience required.
-4-5 years of leading clinical work-groups and teams to optimize the staffs’ use of the EHR application, implementation of new systems and functionality, workflow optimization, and use of data and reports for quality improvement.
-Proficiency in EPIC Ambulatory products
