Avanti’s Swift Solution: Plugging Talent Gaps for a Health Plan Mid-Open Enrollment
Background and Key Challenge
Avanti’s client, a trusted health plan, had a disruptive gap in their internal talent pool right in the middle of open enrollment for the health plan’s clients. The company had many regulatory changes and new updates to provide to a variety of employer and individual groups. To parse and organize the data in a manner that would be quick and error-free, the health plan needed a Techno-Functional Senior Business Analyst on board who could provide quick and accurate results by using business intelligence technology and knowledge of the health insurance industry.
Avanti’s Approach
Avanti met with the hiring managers and HR department to create a persona for the ideal candidate. Avanti asked the questions that would flesh out the nuances of the role that were key to a quick ramp to productivity. Avanti, collaborating with the hiring managers, considered the following: pace of work, size of the current team and resources that were available to help, velocity within which the candidate would need to be fully up to speed on the domain, stack that the candidate would need experience using, growth trajectory for the ideal candidate, interpersonal attributes that would blend well with the existing team, etc.
Results
Within three days, an ideal candidate was identified through an Avanti referral. Avanti’s relationships in the talent community are built on trust and solid results. Avanti conducted a Behavioral Interview to validate the candidate’s prior success in a fast-paced, technically-heavy environment, working on a small, Agile team. Avanti assisted with scheduling interviews (three in total) and extended an offer of Senior Business Analyst that was accepted within four working days of receiving the search assignment. To date, the candidate is thriving after completing the busiest season successfully and learning “trial by fire”. The client is thrilled with the candidate and grateful that she was able to join their company.
