Background and Key Challenge
Avanti was enlisted by a growing technology company in West Sacramento to fill a brand-new critical position for their organization, a Content Support Specialist. The client sought an experienced professional to provide content that was highly curated and parsed based on the needs of the client’s customers. In addition, the role was in charge of supporting online and email technical support to enhance services for members, doctors, and customers.
The client, facing the need for a new role that had never existed and was unique to the client’s business, needed to understand what skills and background to consider for this role to make the right hire. Moreover, the client needed qualified candidates who were well-suited to the company’s fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Avanti’s Approach
Avanti engaged extensively with the senior leadership team, understanding the company’s structure and support system. Avanti asked thoughtful questions about the day-to-day responsibilities, as well as what success would look like in the first year in the role. This information guided the creation of a candidate persona, initiating a targeted search for potential candidates.
With the persona developed, Avanti created clear messaging, emphasizing the organization’s mission and the role’s challenges. Avanti efficiently shortlisted 15 qualified candidates from the talent pool.
Results
Within four days, Avanti presented three finalists who met the cultural and skills criteria based on formal Behavioral Interviews. Avanti coordinated the interviews with the client’s leadership team and after two rounds, a finalist was hired. Reference checks, background checks, and drug testing were conducted to complete the process.
The new hire made an immediate positive impact, saving time and improving member satisfaction by providing faster and more accurate technical support. Avanti’s methodical recruitment approach contributed to the client’s organizational goals effectively.
